Untitled Bass Piece No. 1 was written by Bill Thompson (2002) specifically for the bassist Brent Fariss. The piece may be performed by any number of musicians including as a solo.

This is a multitrack version of the work. A similar live realization has been performed by Fariss as a soloist within a multichannel system.

It has also been performed as a solo by bassist Thomas Helton, and as a sound installation by sound artist Mark Ragsdale (both tracks are available in the subscription version of this release).
