mcalpine construction site is an unprocessed field recording made from wind blowing through the scaffolding of a construction site on the beach of Footdee, Scotland. The result was an accidental, but beautiful, aeolian harp that could be heard 'singing' across the nearby village of Footdee.

When I first discovered this while walking my dog on the beach I was overwhelmed with how beautiful it sounded. I returned late that night with recording gear, scaled the fence that surrounded the site and hid within the structure for several hours to record the phenomena.

The result was this lightly edited, but unprocessed, field recording.

This track was originally released by Autumn Leaves in 2005.
